Baseball Tee

Gina would be so proud of me, not only am I wearing Express pants and top, but I got this top with an extra 30% off the lowest price, bottom line, like $20 bucks; I have always wanted a baseball tee, when I was younger, maybe 10-11 one of my uncles went to visit us in Colombia and he brought me a white and blue baseball tee from gap (number on the back and everything), you can imagine that I wore it to pieces, until my mother threw it out because I looked like I was about to go beg for money in the streets, I was obsessed with that top, I always wanted another one, but was never able to find something similar (I believe it might have even been from the boys section).

Well I know this is not exactly a tee, but I am in love with it, the fabric on the front is super soft, and the sides and waistband are made of a thicker material that give it a lot of weight, and last but not least the super bright color makes this outfit pop.

Buried Treasures

Another buried treasure from  my closet, this tan skirt that I bought over a year ago on my last trip to the Orlando Outlet malls, I scored it for less than $25 at Bebe, and thought it would be perfect to pair with almost everything, it's a bit dressier, but it can look more casual when paired with flats and a simple top (I promise is not as sheer IRL).

Also the nails, remember I told you I was sorting my polish collection? Well I figured I could attempt a gradient and kill two birds with one stone, needless to say I have too many colors that look almost the same, so they will be going to the sale pile. The benefits of Memorial Day cleaning.

Floral Maxi

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend, mine was great, even though I worked on Saturday yesterday I was able to finish a lot of pending projects, I painted my bathroom and started sorting through my nail polish collection. Basically I have promised myself that I will keep using different colors and then decide which ones to keep, it will take me a long time, but at least I know in the end I'll only keep the ones I really use.

I also rearranged my closet, raised my bars, and brought some shelves to the bottom to keep my shoes organized, since I had put all my sweaters on top I had a lot of extra space, and I thought better to organize it differently than to think I have extra space that needs to be filled out. This actually helped me a lot, and I found things I had forgotten I had, like this dress; I bought it at Marshalls last year, and even though Florida is a 9 month summer state I only wore it once, what a pity, because I love it, specially since I rarely get to buy dresses with detail on the bottom, I almost always have to have the hem taken care of and that takes the detailing out, but this one fit me like a glove.

Daisies & stripes

If anyone would have told me I was going to be wearing stripes and daisies together, I would have laughed; I grew up with the "you don't mix patterns" motto engraved in my brain, so I used to be stuck with a bunch of pieces that I only wore with jeans, or solid tops, anything but stripes and dots together.

How excited am I that we don't follow those rules now. I got this top at Forever 21 on clearance for like $5, but I never knew how else to wear it, enter pattern mixing and I have a whole new wardrobe, and appreciation for older pieces, thank God for fashion changes, and if I was doing the #100happydays challenge this one will for sure make the cut.

Scarf Print

I'm in love with shorts, I've come a long way in these past couple of weeks, from not being too sure about them to absolutely loving them, plus the encouragement I got from Gina and Carylee might have been the final push I needed.

They are so comfy, perfect for this Florida weather, and so easy to pair with anything, I am fortunate enough that I get to work at a place where I can literally show up in PJ's, because it allows me to keep experimenting with fashion, and most off all dress for the weather and comfort rather than to follow a boring dress code. This is an outfit I wore to work this week, I paired the solid color shorts with the scarf print top that I scored at Marshalls last year, at first I wasn't very sold on it, it looked like I had taken the shirt from a closet in a retirement home in Boca Raton (you know big bold pattern and boxy cut) but the more I see it in the pictures the more I like it, and it has to be my style since I was immediately drawn to it at the store.

You will have to excuse my lack of purse, and the phone prop, but I was talking to my mom as I headed outside to take the pictures, so I figured I'll give it a go, specially since this is more accurate than me carrying a bag all the time, most of the day I only have my phone in my hands, and a hair tie next to my watch (but we'll just leave that on out).

Overall

I have been wanting to give overall's a try (you know one of those trends we all swore will never make a comeback) and what better way to do it than with shorts, the only thing I'm not to sure about is the fit of the bottom part, are they supposed to be fit like regular shorts, or just slouchy like the top part is holding it together, if the later is the way to go, I don't think this is a trend for me, from the sides I look like a can fit an extra person in them, and then the worst part I tend to let my stomach loose, like trying to hold the pants on, and that is definitely not a cute look.

I had styled this top already in a very casual way, it is so comfortable and surprisingly fresh, and this  sandals (totally copied from Shannon) had also made an appearance here with a little printed dress, so the only new item are my can not make my mind about them overalls. What do you guys thing? about the fit and the trend in general?
