Neon floral shorts & WE MADE IT!!!!!!!!!!

This is one of the outfits I wore in Savannah, somehow I managed to sneak a couple of blog worthy pictures where you can see the whole outfit. I actually bought the shorts and the tank top at the outlets, so this wasn't really a part of my planned wardrobe, anyhow the shorts are super bright and flowery, and once again have an elastic waist, so they were perfect for my last day of vacation, a hat (that I had styled in the winter before) to keep avoiding the not so lovely sun spots that have appeared on my face, and even though I normally would wear flats when there is a lot of walking involved, I got a blister from a pair of thong sandals, so I had to wear my espadrilles until I could get a band aid and switch back to flats. Thank God they are really comfy espadrilles so it wasn't torture as I expected.

On another note, thank you for all your prayers, they worked, we won on Saturday and have made it to quarterfinals for the first time ever, how exciting is that?? Now, we have to root for #TeamUSA, they play Belgium tomorrow and they might make it to quarterfinals too, wouldn't that be just awesome?

Vacay again

This is the last set of pictures from my vacation, as you can see all we did was eat and goof off, it was a much needed break, and we had an awesome time. We had drinks and food the first night at the Bohemian Hotel as suggested by Emilie from Soul in stilettos, it was delicious, not only the food and their drinks but the view was to die for. We also tried Leopold's ice cream, they have been named one of the top 5 in the world, sorry there are no actual ice cream pictures, but we were to busy enjoying.

Comfy and fresh clothes were a must, it is hot as hell in the south, and I had to buy one of those Spanks kind of shorts to go under my skirts and shorts, you know, since I am related to mermaids and my thighs sometimes like to think they are just one, meaning they rub together and in this intense heat, I get like a baby rash, I know this is TMI, but if there is anyone from a hot city that has found a way to deal with this problem, please share #vacationproblems.

Have a good weekend, see you Monday and please say a prayer for Colombia, if we beat Uruguay tomorrow, it will be the first time ever making it to the 3 round, fingers crossed!!!

Seersucker shorts

This seersucker shorts are one of the crazy reduced items I was able to score during my vacation, J Crew factory had an extra 30% off their sale items, and if your purchase was over $30 (really...??? is not like you can walk out of there spending less than that) they gave you an extra 30% off, pretty crazy right? bottom line I got the ones I am wearing today and this dotted chambray shorts for $27 total, tax and everything, talk about major score.

BTW, am I the only one that thinks that the tax should already be included in the price, I mean, is not like you can get out of paying it, I remember when I used to come here on vacation (with a spending budget) and got all excited about my purchases, added the prices, included the discounts, converted it to pesos, and then BAM, the cashier will throw me off with a different number, damn you taxes!!!!

On to this top, I bought it on impulse in one of those Forever 21 sales, when I first got it I wasn't sure I was going to get much wear out of it, but believe it or not I have wore it multiple times, with a skirt, with jeans and now with stripped shorts, I love the open back detail, and the little hearts and confetti pattern are super cute, I guess I also score with this one.

Please don't judge my pale legs, I promise I have an appointment this weekend at VersaSpa for a spray tan, I am super excited and will report the results shortly, and stay tuned because they will be giving away one free tan to one of you guys!!

Plie Wand

Today I want to share a product that Julep is launching as you read. I have a sick obsession with nail polish, I probably own around  300-350 bottles, yes I know there aren't that many colors and I am currently working to downsize my out of control collection. In order to do so I'm lying, I do it all the time I have been doing my nails 2 times a week, ombre style, dots, stripes, and any other combination that will allow me to use more than one polish, that way I decide which ones make their way back to my rack, and which ones have to go.

I have been doing my own nails for a very long time, there is no way I can afford a manicure twice a week, and one of my biggest struggles is to get my right hand as nice as my left hand, if you see my Instagram pictures (Glitter mani - half moons - spun nails) you will see that I only post pictures of my left hand. See, I am right handed and working with my left hand has proven to be quite a challenge, I have stained many things, destroyed my left hand mani (yes, I don't always wait for it to dry), left unpainted edges, you get the idea, my left hand no so artsy.

Enter Julep and their Plie Wand a life saver, at first I didn't know why Plie, it just looked like a regular wand to me, but then.... Hello wand!!! it has a flexible body that allows you more control, it can pivot to your desired comfort position,  it's long enough to give you a better grip, it comes with a regular brush and a precision brush that can be used for stripping, and.... even a dotting tool. To make it even better it also has extra caps with brushes that you can keep in your other Julep polishes, or if you are like me, just use them with other brands but make sure to mark them so you don't go around creating new color shades.

This is such a great tool, not only will it allow me to have two right hands when doing my nails, but it will reduce the amount of stuff I tote around the house, I won't need my dotting set or my stripping set, this might just be the push a lot of you need to start doing your own nails. I do understand than manicure time has become some sort of "me" time, hey, some salons even give you wine while at it, but I love the freedom of doing my own nails and changing them as often as I please without the added expense, so, if you don't want to lose that experience have a mani-pedi party with your friends, have a "pamper yourself " evening at home and experiment with colors and the wand

SOLD OUT!!!!

Guess what does this referee inspired dress means today? It means I failed miserably at getting my soccer tee, it was sold out everywhere near me, I even had a friend who was having dinner in Miami look around, he found one for $90 (no way Jose!!!), and then he called me all excited because he found one for $25, what he forgot to check before doing cartwheels was the size, it was a Large, and in sports tee Large is huge, I probably would have been able to fit an extra person in it, so unfortunately no luck. One of the stores did say they will get more today (we play Japan @3) and since we already made it to the next round you just might still have a chance to see me sporting yellow, blue & red.

Any who, back to the outfit, I've had this dress sitting in my closet for a long time, I even considered getting rid of it several times, don't know why, it's comfy, fresh, love the vibrant color, and it's super easy to style; so I decided to give it a go and wear it with my new bag, I scored it yesterday at Macys for 40% off, and since I had an old gift card, I paid $0, it just can't get any better than that.

Thank you for all the nice comments on my post yesterday, and if you liked the necklace, take a look at Laura's #giveaway for your chance to win one.

Floral Print

I am back!!!!! dressing like a normal person, taking pictures for the blog, planning my outfits the day before; no more of that I just rolled out of bed, I'll wear jeans and whatever, I am finally fully rested, Benson is back in my house and things have seem to go back to their normal state. Besides from the I didn't wash my hair bun, this outfit I took the time to plan last night, I had forgotten how much I enjoy it, it makes my life easier in the morning, and I like looking put together.

Now, if I could just say the same thing of eating better and working out, so that I can shed the "vacation" pounds, life would be perfect. Anyway, back to fashion, this is one of the tops that I got 70% off at the outlets, I never thought I would be one of those people who buys something in every color, but for $6, I did get it in 4 more colors, I love them, so comfy, fresh, and in solid colors, which allows me to pair it with bold prints, like this floral shorts, bright sandals, a muted clutch, and a statement necklace and I am ready to go hunting.

Today I am on a fierce mission to find me a Colombian soccer team tee (Say whatttt????), yes, me who never liked soccer, I think I have watched 2 or 3 matches total in my whole life, but this year I am super excited about the world cup, and our performance, it has been 16 years since we made it to the world cup, we have a pretty good team this year, and to see something that is bringing my whole country together after it has been divided for so long over politics, I can't help but get extra emotional; so if I succeed you might just find out how I style my sports tee tomorrow, while I cheer for Colombia who is playing Japan. Don't worry I have been cheering for team US just as much, and wanted to die yesterday when Portugal scored the 2nd goal, I thought we were in for sure.
