Friday Five

This is a little recap of my week, sorry no dress up pics on this one.

1. I have been watching Korean Dramas, it all started when I read an article about Netflix and if you liked.... you will like... So since I loved gossip girl, Netflix believes I would probably enjoy Boys over Flowers. And I did, it was very different and sometimes I wanted to die since instead of having multiple lines of subtitles during a long conversation they just keep making the font small to fit it all in one line and I had to run up close to my TV to know what was going on, I know for sure I can not believe this is representative of Korean life, or else based on Colombian shows everyone should be allowed a very poor opinion of me, but it was really fun and interesting to watch. There was one thing I found really funny and I have used it for this post, one of the guys said "good girls always like the bad news first because they love happy endings" so assuming you are all good girls I have left the best for last.

2. Benson  has been adopted, and on Friday when he got picked up this is exactly how I felt, I though I was going to be in major pain all the week, but..... keep reading

3. How about these cows? My local farmers market has cows in the back, as I was getting on my car I could have sworn I hear a "mooo" at this point I thought I was hallucinating, I mean I haven't been this up close and personal to a cow since I moved from Colombia (for the record I did not have cows in my house, I lived in the city, but our neighbors in our weekend little cabin did) so I decided to ignore the "no trespassing" sign and go exploring, imagine my surprise when this is what I found... there was a fence between us, but I was so excited, they brought so many happy memories of my childhood and it's little things like this that bring a smile to my face.

4. I have been better with my food and consistently working out (ignore my deer in front of headlights look please) and I have slowly been seeing results, it's so exciting, it keeps you motivated and going on, and hell yes I'm proud of myself, pat on the back, I deserve to buy something nice for myself, #amIright

5. Here are the good news/happy ending, I have a new foster dog, his name is Dozer he is a 3 year old fluff ball, the mother of all laziness as you can see from this picture, he naps half way through everything, he has the biggest head ever and you can just squeeze it, his paws are so big and adorable, and he has the most gorgeous colored hair, what can I say, I am in love. This is only my second foster but they are so different from each other, a completely different personality and it's so much fun getting to know them. I don't believe he will be with me as long as Benson was as he has a pending adoption, but that certainly will not stop me from absolutely falling in love with him, hugging and kissing his mushy face to the point where is borderline harassment.

Have a great weekend, a fun Halloween and don't eat to much candy.... send it all my way.

Look what I got, more cobalt and another skirt

I promise I have not been wearing cobalt every day this week, but I had to share this awesome skirt (yes in Florida we still wear skirts) that I also got during the Columbus day sale on crazy sale, extra 50% off the already reduced $20 tag. I have always wanted to try this pleated skirt trend but since I am so short I was afraid it might make me look like extra puffy, but I figured for $10 there is no way I can go wrong.

I must say I am really pleased with the outcome, paired with this semi-fitted turtleneck the volume of the skirt is toned down a bit; the material is stiff which means even on windy days I won't be flashing anyone, and the color.... what can I say, you already know by now that I am obsessed. This is quite a blue overload, but I don't think it looks too heavy and the tiny pop of color from the earrings gives it a nice touch, so tell me what awesome trendy pieces have you scored on major sale?

For those of you who have commented on Benson's adoption thank you so much, it was really hard over the weekend, but my nest wasn't empty for long, on Tuesday I picked up the cutest teddy bear you have ever seen, he is only 3, an owner surrender (good health condition) and too fluffy for words, here is a sneak peek of the little rascal.

Cobalt Jeans

This weekend was a bitter sweet one for me, I don't know if you remember Benson, the bulldog that I was fostering for the past six months, but last week he got adopted and on Friday they picked him up; from the beginning that was the plan but since it took way longer than expected and because of his age we kind of thought he wasn't going anywhere, and let's be honest, how can you not fall in love with a dog like that? So I was really happy that he found a forever family, he will have a brother and a sister and 3 human brothers, and he immediately fell in love with his new mom, so that gave my broken heart a bit of comfort. Over the weekend I got pictures of him and news that he is doing great, like they were always his family and the little girl (bulldog) follows him around all the time. Despite all that I can't help but feel a bit heartbroken, and an empty house does not help, but I have already been told that they have a new dog in need of foster, so that should help a bit; I know you don't replace one dog with another and they will always be so different, but knowing that I am helping them while they find their forever homes is what gives me the strength to move past a broken hear and open the pieces up for a new dog, until I can afford to keep one and then become a member of the best group ever "the foster failure group"

Now on to this outfit that I wore last week, if it looks familiar is because I had already worn this  cobalt jeans with a white top in the past few weeks, but this time is a more relaxed outfit with a plain tee and some studded sandals, as you can see from the pictures it was super windy and cool, and we have been enjoying great weather this past couple of days, it is finally outdoors weather, you can sit out for hours and relax, so hopefully that means soon enough we will be able to wear light sweaters.

I hope everyone had an awesome weekend and stay tuned for pics of the new baby :)

Flute skirt

I have mentioned before that I am not a fan of boots and skirts/dresses together (on me) but I had to give it a try, I got this flute skirt in the mail over the weekend and I couldn't wait to wear it and since it has been raining a bit down here and my legs are a very ghost shade of white right now, I figured boots were a heaven sent answer. I don't have to worry about puddles and getting my feet wet, because there is nothing OK, maybe there is, that freaks me out more than wet toes and sandals together; and the boots also hide my lack of tan issue, so win win.

I paired the skirt with a pink top, since I have been obsessed with this combination lately, packed on some sparkly necklaces and kept the rest of the accessories to a minimum, I have to admit for a $9 skirt I am extremely pleased with how nice it looks and it fits, you really can beat a bargain like that; I got it from F21 during their extra 50% off sale items with free shipping, but even at $15 (that's the price now) is still an awesome buy; and since buying is something we all enjoy A LOT don't forget to enter the $750 Amazon Gift card giveaway at the bottom.

Ruffle dress

On Monday I kept it super short because I had a very important meeting to attend, I had to take an assessment test for work, and it was at the government center closest to my house. See I normally work by myself in a small office where I can really wear PJ's if I wanted to, so when I got the appointment I knew I had to wear more appropriate office attire, since it is not my everyday wear I really don't have tons of things to chose from, but I do have a few dresses that come in handy, like this green ruffle dress, paired with some nude pumps and an aqua bag to keep it fun (formal doesn't have to be boring, right?) were just what I needed.

I love this dress, I bought it at Marshall's a long time ago and it has been a life saver more than once, it has a good length, a bit of color (not too loud) and the collar detail brings it up a notch and it simplifies the accessories you need; here I kept them minimum with a watch and some pearls studs (that you can't see) that my mother gave me for my first communion, they were hers before so they are more of a family heirloom.

The assessment went pretty well and I should have the results next week, fingers crossed the results confirm how I believe I did.

PS I was wearing a nude lipstick with a bit of sheen, but in the pictures I look completely dead, so I do apologize for that :)

Finally plaid

Today I'm keeping it short since there was not much going on during the weekend, maybe a bit stresses out by an appointment I have today that is very important, so please keep me in your prayers.

On to the fun part, we were blessed last week with a couple of awesome weather days, I honestly had forgotten how wonderful it is, it's so perfect for anything, you can even go to the beach; so like any normal Floridian, when the temperature dips below 80 I went all fall crazy and pulled out a real plaid top, some red pants and closed toe shoes (not crazy enough for boots, yet) and went on to enjoy the day.
