Black n' Tan

This week I leave you with a super simple from the ones I've had to improvise for my new job, plain tan pants, a black sweater, a patent bag and some awesome BCBG shoes that I scored at TJ Maxx. I am not going to lie, the ankle strap gave me a blister from hell, but besides that the height and platform make them comfy for all day wear, I guess you win one you lose one, and it might just take a bit of time to break them and maybe some of Carylee's tips and tricks to eventually have them ready to dance in them (figuratively speaking)

This is the last post of the week, so that I can take some time to enjoy the Holiday, I hope you all do the same, and that you have many reasons to be grateful for this year, I wish you all the blessings in the world.

Tights & boots

The weather has been such a blessing lately that I was finally able to wear a scarf, paired with a simple sweater, a faux leather skirt, comfy boots and the perfect winter touch, tights. I have to admit that until recently I only owned a pair of tights, but recently I received quite a few designs and I can't wait for the weather to allow me to break them out, they do bring an outfit up a notch, and can make short skirts (not as short as mine, of course) work appropriate and expand your wardrobe.

With my new dress code I have found out that blogging and reading blogs has really broaden my horizons and I have been able to create a couple of outfits from pieces I already have, but I have to confess that I plan to go shopping on Friday since I am in serious need of some office basics, and I know I am not the only one planning to do some damage this week and with the upcoming holidays, so don't forget to enter the amazing $750 Paypal cash #giveaway

Spread the joy

This might be one of my last "dressed down" posts for a while, so what better way to leave the casual world than with a sweater and some boots, my jean days might be as scarce as Fl winter, so I am enjoying them while they last; a simple tan pair of jeans with a striped sweater, some comfy boots and I am good to go; even better if the boots were bought on sale last year at Macy's.

Thank you so much for your nice words about my new joy, and since Thanksgiving is around the corner and I am extremely grateful and totally in holiday mood, what better way to celebrate it than by spreading the joy and bringing you guys the ultimate cash giveaway, $750 via Paypal, who can say no to that, and this time of the year. So scroll down, check it out and let me know what you will be using it for.

Olive Pants and ........ I got a job!!!!!

I am sorry that I have been MIA and super late to share the news but these past couple of days have been kind of crazy and the ones to come will be an adjustment period, right now I am leaving my house in the dark and leaving work pretty dark as well, so I have to work out the picture taking.

But on to the news.... I got a job, I would like to say a real job, but that will make my old ones sound not so serious, but hear me out; I graduated from Law school before I moved to the US and once here I got a Master's in Business and Finance (kind of impressive I thought), but my prospective employers always thought I was overqualified for an entry level job, I didn't have much experience so that is what I wanted; since that didn't work out I started applying for jobs that required a Master, but guess what.... I didn't have the experience, so I was in limbo, in debt, and kind of hopeless, I stayed where I was and I have always mentioned how grateful I am for that job, I worked with the most amazing boss who I love almost like a father, had lots of freedom but I really wanted a bit more. A couple of months ago he decided he wanted to take a break and close the business (not literally, another one of my inspectors was going to keep it) and he told me he would wait until I got a job to make the switch official, I could have stayed there but this was the extra push I needed to start my search again, and to my surprise I got a call from one of the many applications I submitted (I didn't know anyone there, I wasn't recommended by someone else) went through the whole selection process and on a Friday early afternoon I was at the mall returning something (while my boss covered for me at the office) when I got the official offer, I was bursting at the seams, I couldn't believe it, it's an amazing position, with lots of growth possibilities, amazing benefits, and I got it all on my own (plus a little help from above).

So I hope you can understand if this next days I am not here as often as I'd like, I have my blog reading a bit behind, and can't get to all the comments, but I promise I'll catch up, and will be asking all of you that have to dress up for work, for ideas, as my wardrobe has to make a 180 turn; and you can guess I don't have any work appropriate clothes.

Vest and stripes

I have some news to share with you in the next couple of days, news that have me really nervous and excited, that have been long in the making and (I'm not going to lie) that I had given up on a long time ago. A big part of that has to do with my personal style and how I must present myself and it is also related to that meeting and assessment I had a couple of weeks ago.

But while I still can I will enjoy the pleasures of wearing jeans everyday, like this coated ones, I searched Pinterest for ways to style this vest and the most popular one was definitely with a stripped top, since I have worn mine to pieces and maybe even once a week in this blog I decided to step it up a notch and pair it with my striped Portofino so it would look a bit dressier, and since I am a creature of habit I wore the same shoes that I have worn with this pants every time I share them here.

Color Block

Over the weekend I helped my mother who is in the middle of moving to a new place and it reminded me how crazy my move and home search were last year, I learned a lot of things the hard way, things I wish someone had told me before I started looking for a place, like to stay away from fuse panels or certain breaker brands, or to run for my life from a frame house (at least in Florida) or the fact that you need to lock your interest rate while all the closing takes place, I really wish I'd had a better mortgage broker and Realtor, it's amazing how important is the role they play, specially for first time home buyers.

That's why today I am sharing with you a website that helps to connect you with a local Realtor that has knowledge of your neighborhood and pricing in the area, if you have a friend that knows your area great but if you don't and don't know where to start check Agent Ace and while you do enter for a chance to win a $250 or $100 giftcard. On your way down to the giveaway I also brought you some old pink pants that you have seen here before and are like a million years old with a color block top and a trusty black clutch, a super simple outfit that I wore last week.

Sponsored by: Agent Ace
Hosted by: Mom Powered Media
Agent Ace is the new way to find the best real estate agent. When you've thought about buying a home, how did you figure out who would help you with that? Did you find someone who you felt you could trust to get you what you wanted from it, whether that was a good price on a new home or the best sale of your old one? A lot of homeowners and potential buyers will just pick a random agent from a list online without a lot of background on what they're best at. It's like throwing a dart at the Yellowpages. With just a little information from you, Agent Ace can match you with the best agent to sell your home or buy a new one.

They're not a service who bases their list on whoever pays the most in your area either, so there's no worry about what goes on behind the scenes. For those of us in the market, Agent Ace a completely free service. Their innovative, patented technology — the Agent Connection Engine (ACE) — makes an unbiased evaluation of every agent who has bought or sold a home just like the one you’re trying to close on based on the information you've provided. They gather and analyze years of past home sales data from ALL the real estate agents in your state, not just a small network. Then they promise to recommend the single best agent for your needs — based on facts.

Agent Ace is free, easy to use, and there’s no obligation to use any of the agents they recommend. You're not locked into anything if you don't find someone you think fits or if maybe you decide you're not ready yet. They make up to 3 agent recommendations for buying and 3 for selling so you can choose the best fit for your needs and your style. Once they identify your best agent, the experienced Agent Specialists will screen them and confirm that they can fully commit to you. They do the initial contact and the sometimes awkward "Hey, can you take a new client right now?" questions for you. Once they’re sure it's a great fit, your recommended agent will give you a call within 24 hours (but usually sooner). It’s as easy as ordering take-out.

If you're even considering getting into the housing market for your dream home, whether to buy or sell, you can check out Agent Ace's amazing system from the comfort of your home (in your pajamas) at AgentAce.com.
Speaking of Dream Homes, Agent Ace wants to help you decorate yours. Two lucky winners are going to receive Crate & Barrel gift cards! The grand prize winner will receive a $250 gift card and a runner up will receive a $100 gift card. The sweepstakes is open to residents of the US through November 24, 2014.
